Common Event Planning Questions
Why do you call yourself Squashcarver?
Because I love carving the green giants. All the giant pumpkins are technically squash. We call them pumpkins because they are orange.
Will you travel to our event?
Absolutely, Squashcarver has multiple sculptors that can attend your event. It is best to contact us early as possible to reserve the date.
How long does it take you to carve a pumpkin?
It depends on the size and complexity of the design. A standard size pumpkin with a simple design is about 1-2 hours. A giant pumpkin weighing 500-1000 can take 4-6 hours to carve. A giant pumpkin weighing 1000+ can be carved over one to two days.
What can you sculpt for our event?
We are always open to ideas and will cater to your theme. We have sculpted logos, animals, flowers, faces and many others. We never carve the same thing twice. The shape of the pumpkin can also help inspire the design.
Will you help us find a giant pumpkin for our event?
Yes, I work with a vast network of growers and can provide virtually any size pumpkin. I will also help you arrange delivery to your site.
How do you move a giant pumpkin?
Very carefully!! Anything over 800-pounds will require a tractor or forklift. Under 800 pounds several people can help move it but, a forklift is much easier.
Do we need to provide power for my on-site event?
No, we use hand tools and do not need power. However, power may be needed for lighting after dark.
